Jakub earned his undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, graduating in December 2010. He went on to attend Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he distinguished himself academically and professionally. While in law school, Jakub clerked for the Honorable Daniel R. Degnan in the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. During his studies, he was awarded three CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, recognizing him as the highest-scoring student in his Sales, Advocacy, and Remedies courses.
After passing the Illinois Bar Exam, Jakub began his legal career at a Chicago-based personal injury firm representing plaintiffs in a wide range of cases, including motor vehicle accidents, construction accidents, and nursing home abuse matters. In this role, he developed extensive experience across all stages of personal injury litigation, including jury trials, arbitrations, mediations, and hundreds of depositions. Jakub has also presented oral arguments before the Illinois Appellate Court in both the 1st and 4th Districts.
Jakub was born in Warsaw, Poland, and moved to the United States with his parents at the age of five. He was raised in the suburbs of Chicago. Outside of his legal practice, Jakub enjoys traveling with his wife, Sara, and their three children, Julia, Gavin, and Maisie. The family also shares their home with two dogs, Phoebe and Ursula.
