Bradford P. Klager is a partner and seasoned trial attorney whose practice focuses on complex, high-stakes litigation involving catastrophic personal injury, product liability, trucking collisions, and oilfield and construction incidents. Known for his analytical approach and command of technical evidence, Mr. Klager has built a reputation for developing innovative legal strategies and effectively challenging expert testimony in some of the most complicated civil cases. With more than 25 years of litigation experience, he brings deep courtroom knowledge and a relentless commitment to achieving results for Hilliard Law clients.
A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mr. Klager was raised in a family deeply rooted in the law by his father, the respected former Judge James E. Klager. He earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1999. While in law school, he practiced criminal law through St. Mary’s Institute for Legal and Social Justice and secured his first published appellate opinion in Carson v. State, which reversed a criminal punishment based on jury selection error. He also completed international law studies at the University of Innsbruck in Austria through St. Mary’s study abroad program.
Mr. Klager began his career handling automotive crashworthiness litigation and spent nearly 15 years at a boutique trial firm known for pursuing challenging and unconventional cases. During that time, he litigated a broad range of complex matters involving vehicle defects and civil claims arising from criminal conduct, including cases connected to drug trafficking, illegal gambling, and unlawful product sales. He also spent nearly a decade litigating tire defect cases arising in Mexico, including In re Ford Motor Co., a significant Texas Supreme Court case involving forum non conveniens law.
Throughout his career, Mr. Klager has helped pioneer novel legal theories and complex product defect claims. His work includes litigation involving automotive safety systems, emerging technology, and the use of artificial intelligence in safety monitoring. Since joining Hilliard Law, he has continued to develop innovative litigation strategies tailored to the unique facts of each case while helping secure significant recoveries for injured clients and families, including a recent $50 million settlement arising from a fatal commercial motor vehicle collision. In January 2025, Mr. Klager was named a partner at Hilliard Law in recognition of his leadership, litigation experience, and longstanding dedication to the firm’s clients and mission.
