The Hilliard family recently joined community leaders and supporters for a ribbon-cutting and sneak peek of Ocean Odyssey, the new immersive Children’s Discovery Center at the Texas State Aquarium.
Bob and Catherine Hilliard, along with their family, were among the first to experience the family-friendly interactive exhibit before it opens to the public Memorial Day weekend.
Designed to inspire play, learning, and discovery, Ocean Odyssey is a new multi-level indoor space where children and families can explore rescue-themed environments through hands-on, climbable play. Inspired by the Aquarium’s nationally recognized wildlife rescue program, the exhibit encourages children to learn through movement, imagination, and exploration.
For the Hilliard family, supporting the Aquarium’s mission is a longstanding commitment. Catherine Hilliard currently serves as Chair of the Texas State Aquarium’s Board of Trustees, helping guide the organization’s continued growth and impact in South Texas. She and Bob have long supported the Aquarium’s work and were proud contributors to the Center for Wildlife Rescue, which opened in 2023.
